Czar's Original Raspberry is a 38% ABV raspberry-flavoured vodka made by the Ladoga Group in St Petersburg, Russia. Production uses fresh raspberries quickly frozen right after harvest; the producer states this method aims to preserve the fruit's freshness, aroma and intensity of flavour. Its name on the Russian label is Царская Оригинальная Малина.

Ladoga's flavoured products in the Czar's Original (Russian: Царская Оригинальная) range use Lux-grade grain alcohol; the aromatic alcohol is obtained by distilling fresh fruit, berries and spices in copper stills. The range was developed as the flavoured arm of Ladoga's Czar's Original vodka, launched in 2003 to mark St Petersburg's 300th anniversary.

What does Czar's Original Raspberry taste like?

The producer speaks of a natural aroma recalling juicy raspberries and a scent evocative of autumn. The fruit aroma is presented together with the vodka's clean body; according to Ladoga, its flavoured Czar's vodkas are designed to be enjoyed both neat and in cocktails.

How should it be served?

Well chilled, it can be drunk neat in small glasses. In long drinks made with ice and soda, tonic or lemonade, the raspberry aroma becomes more pronounced; fresh raspberry and a slice of lemon complement such mixes.

What does Czar's Original Raspberry pair well with?

Raspberry aroma forms a natural match with red-fruit desserts and chocolate. A raspberry tart, fruity cheesecake and bitter-chocolate desserts pair well alongside a chilled glass or a light long drink.
