The Singleton of Dufftown 15 Year Old is a 15-year-old single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV and produced at Diageo's Dufftown distillery in Speyside. It is crafted with the aim of a balanced whisky that is soft yet rich, and it has won awards at several international competitions.
How is it matured?
Singleton of Dufftown 15 Year Old is matured in a combination of European and American oak casks, including refill bourbon and sherry casks. This careful balancing of different casks produces a soft, sweet, approachable style with a spiced, drying finish.
What does Singleton of Dufftown 15 Year Old taste like?
The nose leads with light spice and caramelised apple, joined by fresh notes of honeycomb, linseed oil and fragrant tea. Over time, ripe autumn fruit, tart red berries, malt and golden syrup sweetness emerge. On the medium-bodied, mouth-coating palate, sweetness comes first, then dries, with fresh fruit salad and spiced, floral top notes over a malt and oat base. The finish is dry, with pear and biscuit, followed by light aniseed spice.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
The producer recommends it neat or used in a classic Manhattan cocktail. Its fruity, lightly spiced character pairs well with mature cheeses, fruit-based desserts and roasted nuts.
