The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Yıl

The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old is a 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV and produced at Diageo's Dufftown distillery in Speyside. The distillery has produced whisky since 1896, and the producer describes this bottling, with its soft, rich and approachable taste, as a good choice for those new to malt whisky.

What makes The Singleton of Dufftown different?

The Singleton is a brand Diageo uses for soft, fruity malt whiskies from several of its distilleries, and the Dufftown bottling is the Speyside representative of this family. Roasted nut, ripe fruit and brown sugar tones come to the fore, leaving an elegantly dry, clean finish.

What does Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old taste like?

The nose is rich and inviting: polished wood and roasted hazelnut come first, followed by baked apple, sweet dates and soft brown sugar. With water added, a sweeter, more pronounced Speyside character opens up, with notes of pear drops. On the medium-to-full-bodied palate, sweetness and crisp nuts arrive first, followed by a fruity richness, brown sugar and espresso coffee. The finish is medium-long, elegantly dry and clean, leaving a sweet, nutty trace.

How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?

The producer recommends drinking it neat; a few drops of water open up the fruity side. Its nutty, fruity character pairs well with mature cheeses, roasted nuts and fruit-based desserts such as apple pie.
