The Macallan 12 Year Old Sherry Oak is a 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled at 40% ABV and produced at the Macallan distillery, part of the Edrington group. It is the purest expression of Macallan's classic style, synonymous with sherry cask maturation.

This whisky is matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks. The sherry cask lends the whisky dark dried fruit, a rich sweetness and warm spice, while a light wood smoke adds further depth of character. The nose leads with vanilla, hints of ginger, dried fruit, sherry sweetness and wood smoke. The palate is soft, with rich dried fruits such as raisin, plum and prune balanced by sherry and light spice. The finish carries sweet toffee, dried fruit and a long-lasting trace of spice and wood smoke.

It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water, served in a tulip-shaped glass. Its dried-fruit and toffee character pairs very well with dark chocolate desserts, mature hard cheeses and roasted nuts.
