Tekirdağ Rakısı No. 10 Ultra

Tekirdağ Rakısı No. 10 is a 47.5% ABV fresh-grape raki that Mey|Diageo distils in a historic handmade copper still known as "10". Made with Turkey's fresh grapes and quality aniseed seeds, this raki is triple-distilled. Launched in 2014, No. 10 takes its name from this special still used in its production.

What sets Tekirdağ Rakısı No. 10 apart?

Its high proportion of aniseed produces a pronounced, intense whitening when water is added; the producer describes this intense whitening as the product's signature. At 47.5% ABV, it offers a slightly stronger drink than the brand's classic 45% bottlings.

What does it taste like?

According to the producer, it has a light, velvety and aromatic taste, along with fruity aromas. On the nose, the dominant aniseed is followed by fine herbal notes and hints of fresh grape. The finish is smooth and long.

How is it served and what does it pair with?

It is drunk in a raki glass, diluted with cold water; the intense whitening is especially pronounced in this raki. The producer states No. 10 goes well with yoghurt-based mezes and grilled dishes. Mezes such as haydari, cacik and yoghurt-and-aubergine purée, along with grilled meat and köfte, suit this raki's table; seafood is also a classic alternative.
