Tekirdağ Rakısı is a 45% ABV Turkish raki produced by Mey|Diageo from 100% fresh grapes, distilled in copper stills. According to the producer's official page, the brand launched in 2000 and today has a wide family of expressions, including the Gold Series and No 10.
How is Tekirdağ Rakısı made?
Suma obtained from carefully selected fresh grapes is distilled with quality aniseed seeds in traditional copper stills. In keeping with the legal definition of Turkish raki, it is produced in Turkey using the traditional method.
What does Tekirdağ Rakısı taste like?
The producer describes it as easy-drinking with a balanced aniseed aroma. It is a classic-style raki, neither too harsh nor too soft, making it a safe choice for both newcomers and seasoned raki drinkers.
How is it served?
It is drunk in a narrow-waisted raki glass, raki poured first, then cold water; it whitens when water is added. Those who want ice can add it last.
What food does it pair with?
According to the producer, it pairs well with both cold mezes and main courses. White cheese and melon, olive-oil dishes, grilled fish and meat dishes make up a classic Tekirdağ table.
