Anadolu Rakı is the traditional Turkish raki brand of Mey İçki Sanayi Ltd., founded in North Cyprus in 1975. The producer states that every bottle of Anadolu Rakı uses sweet, aromatic Sultana grapes and selected aniseed, and that it continues the tradition of distilling raki in copper stills. Mey İçki is one of Turkey's certified raki producers and has a facility in Manisa dedicated to Turkish raki production.

What sets Anadolu Rakı's ranges apart?

Under the brand sit different expressions such as Sıfır Seri, the oak-rested Sıfır Seri Gold, and Ahenk, which blends fresh- and dried-grape suma. According to the producer, Anadolu Rakı is now available in more than 1,200 restaurants, bars and outlets in North Cyprus and export markets. Under the legal definition of Turkish raki, suma is redistilled a second time with aniseed in traditional copper stills.

How is it served?

The producer suggests several options: neat, with cold water, or over ice. When water is added, the raki turns milky white and its aniseed aroma opens up. In the traditional presentation, a tall, narrow raki glass is used, and ice is added last.

What food does it pair with?

The producer recommends this raki with olives, cheese, grilled seafood and classic Turkish mezes. White cheese, melon, cold olive-oil dishes and grilled fish are the most natural companions for this raki.
