Teacher's Highland Cream is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky, produced since 1863 by Glasgow-founded Wm. Teacher & Sons, now under the Suntory Global Spirits umbrella. The blend's character is defined by the fully peated single malt whisky of Ardmore distillery in Aberdeenshire.
What sets Teacher's Highland Cream apart?
William Teacher began his career in Glasgow in 1830 after obtaining a whisky licence, quickly opening a series of "dram shops" across the city. According to the producer, Teacher's uses an above-average proportion of peated malt in its blends, giving the whisky a full body and a distinct but soft smoky texture. Ardmore is one of the few distilleries to have used peated malt continuously since its founding.
What does it taste like?
The nose opens with a strong malt character and a light Highland peat smoke, followed by apple, pear and honey sweetness. The palate is round, warm and silky-textured, with rich malt to the fore. The finish is balanced and fades slowly.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or extended with ginger ale. Its lightly smoky profile pairs well with barbecued food, grilled red meat and mature cheeses.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
