Starogardzka Vodka

Starogardzka is a plain Polish vodka produced at the historic distillery in Starogard Gdański, Poland, from a grain blend and water drawn from its own deep wells. It is now part of the United Beverages group's portfolio. It takes its name from the Starogard facility, which has operated continuously for more than 175 years and is considered one of Europe's oldest and largest distilleries; the producer states it was the Pomerania region's first steam-powered alcohol refinery.

What does Starogardzka taste like?

The producer describes Starogardzka as a vodka with a smooth taste and delicate aroma. The alcohol obtained from the grain blend offers a plain, balanced taste rather than a harsh alcoholic sensation. The brand was among Poland's best-known vodkas, with sales of around 20 million litres a year between 2003 and 2007.

How is it served?

As in Polish tradition, it can be drunk neat, well chilled, in small glasses. Its smooth structure also allows it to be used in simple mixes with fruit juices and carbonated drinks.

What food does it pair with?

It goes well with the classic vodka accompaniments of Polish tables, such as herring, pickles, cold cuts and smoked fish platters. It is also favoured as a plain accompaniment at large barbecue and grilled-meat gatherings.
