Muirhead's Blue Seal is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky, the flagship brand of Charles Muirhead & Sons, founded in Edinburgh in 1824, now produced by Terroirs Distillers, owner of Tullibardine distillery.
What is the story of Muirhead's?
Charles Muirhead & Sons began as a wine merchant on Commercial Street, near the port of Leith, and soon became a firm blending and exporting Scotch whisky. In the 1920s, the company was bought by Macdonald & Muir, known today as the Glenmorangie Company. Blue Seal became a well-known brand in the 20th century in many markets from South America to the Middle East. In 2008, the brand passed to the independent family firm Terroirs Distillers; today it is sold in more than 30 markets.
What does Muirhead's Blue Seal taste like?
On the nose, crisp grain, apple and toffee notes are felt. The palate is clean and lively; light fruit and floral notes are sensed, leaving a juicy, full impression in the mouth.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
Its light, clean character makes it well suited to long drinks with ice, or mixers such as soda and ginger ale. It pairs comfortably with grilled chicken, a nut platter and light meze.

- Crisp cereal, apple and toffee.
- Palate
- Clean and lively; light fruit and floral notes, with a juicy, full mouthfeel.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.

An age check (18+) is carried out on delivery. Our Famagusta branch is open every day 09:00–00:00, and our Bafra branch 09:00–02:00 (until 00:00 on Mondays).
