Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 McLaren Edition 2025 is a limited-edition bottle prepared for the 2025 season of the partnership between Jack Daniel's and the McLaren Formula 1 team; it contains a Tennessee whiskey made to the classic Old No. 7 recipe in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The 70cl bottle sold internationally is 43% ABV.
What sets the McLaren range apart?
According to the producer, the whiskey is made using Jack Daniel's classic grain recipe of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley. The distilled spirit is filtered drop by drop through around 3 metres of sugar maple charcoal before going into cask and is matured in new, charred American white oak casks. The bottle's design, featuring McLaren's racing colours and dedicated to the 2025 season, appeals to collectors.
What does it taste like?
In Whisky Magazine's tasting, pineapple ice cream, tree sap and vanilla were noted on the nose. The palate is quite dry and nutty, followed by caramel confectionery and liquorice root. The finish becomes richer and drier; brown sugar and spice tie back to an oak note.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with cola. It pairs well with grilled red meat, barbecued food and nuts.
