İstan Blue Votka

Istan Blue Vodka takes its name from Istanbul and is a Turkish vodka brand now produced by Mey Diageo, Diageo's Turkish company. It is one of the best-known domestic vodkas in Turkey and is sold in bottle sizes ranging from 35 cl to 1 litre.

The story of Istan Blue

The brand was developed by Burgaz Alkollü İçkiler, part of the Garipoğlu Companies Group, alongside Burgaz Rakı and Marmara Beer. Burgaz was known as an integrated drinks producer that made its own grain-based alcohol at its own facility. Istan Blue later joined the Mey İçki portfolio; Diageo Turkey today counts it among the vodkas it produces alongside Smirnoff, Binboa and Bazooka. Alongside the plain vodka, flavoured versions of the brand are also available.

What kind of drink is vodka?

Vodka is produced by distilling alcohol from agricultural raw materials such as grain to a very high strength, then diluting it with water. The aim is a clean, neutral, smooth taste, which makes vodka one of the most widely used spirits both neat and in cocktails.

How is it served, and what food does it pair with?

It can be drunk well chilled as a shot, or as a long drink with ice, fruit juice, tonic or an energy drink; it is also used in cocktails such as the Moscow Mule and Bloody Mary. It pairs well with meze platters, fish and seafood, and fresh cheeses.
