Islay Mist Original Peated is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky from MacDuff International's Islay Mist brand, notable for its peated character. It is the core blend in the brand's range.
What kind of whisky is Islay Mist?
Taking its name from the island of Islay, known for its peaty, maritime whiskies, Islay Mist aims to present this character within a soft blend. The range also includes 8, 10 and 17-year-old blends; Original is the entry-level, no-age-statement expression. It is considered a balanced starting point for those taking their first steps into peated whiskies.
What does Islay Mist Original Peated taste like?
On the nose, light peat smoke and seaweed arrive together with soft malt and a maritime freshness. On the palate, peat leads at first, followed by sweet malt, oak and a pinch of sea salt. On the finish, soft peat smoke remains, along with bittersweet notes reminiscent of caramel.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, or on the rocks; it also suits a smoky highball made with soda. Its maritime, smoky character pairs well with grilled fish and seafood, mature cheeses and barbecued meats.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
