Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve is a no-age-statement, 40% ABV single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Highlands. It takes its name from the three different cask types used together in maturation.
What are the three casks?
The whisky is prepared by combining malts matured in bourbon casks, charred new oak casks, and rye whiskey casks, rarely used in Scotch whisky. According to master blender Gillian Macdonald, the bourbon and new oak bring out the distillery's fruity sweetness, while the rye casks add a delicate salty-spicy layer.
What does Triple Cask Reserve taste like?
The nose is juicy and tropical: pear, vanilla, candied orange peel, honeysuckle and grapefruit; light spices such as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg follow. The palate has a creamy, intense texture with crème brûlée, cherry liqueur chocolate, fudge, orange sherbet, clove, sweet pepper and tropical fruit; oak-derived maple syrup and marzipan add to it. The finish is rich, sweet and spicy.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
The producer recommends drinking it neat, on ice, or in a cocktail. It offers a balanced match with fruit desserts, grilled chicken and mature cheeses.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
