Glenmorangie The Original 12 Year Old is a 40% ABV single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Glenmorangie Distillery, owned by Moët Hennessy, in the Highlands of Scotland. The brand's signature whisky, The Original, was recently updated from a 10-year to a 12-year expression.

What makes The Original 12 Year Old different?

Glenmorangie is known for having Scotland's tallest stills, which give a light, elegant spirit. The Original matures for 12 years solely in bourbon casks, balancing the vanilla from the cask with the distillery's fruity character. The new release won gold at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards.

What does Glenmorangie 12 Year Old taste like?

The nose shows citrus and ripening peach, balanced by soft vanilla. The palate opens with vanilla, followed by a burst of floral fruitiness; layers of honey and peach are felt. The surprisingly long finish leaves almond, coconut and a touch of maple syrup.

How should it be served, and what does it pair with?

It can be enjoyed neat, with a few drops of water, or on ice; its light character also suits highball-style cocktails. Its citrusy, floral profile pairs well with fish and seafood, salads and fruit desserts.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
