Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Year Old is a 43% ABV, 15-year-old single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Glenmorangie Distillery, owned by Moët Hennessy, in the Highlands. It is a more mature, more layered new interpretation of Lasanta, which matures in bourbon and oloroso sherry casks.
What makes The Lasanta 15 Year Old different?
Lasanta has long been a favourite spicy, sweet malt among Glenmorangie fans. According to Dr Bill Lumsden, the director of whisky creation, this release matured for 15 years in a curated selection of enriched bourbon and oloroso sherry casks, gaining more complex and elegant notes. The producer describes this whisky as an attempt to bottle the magic of a sunset seen from every corner of the world; its rosewood colour reflects this theme.
What does Lasanta 15 Year Old taste like?
The nose is rich, aromatic, spicy and deep: sweet wine, honeycomb, walnut and a light charcoal note. A splash of water reveals clove, blackcurrant blossom, chocolate-covered raisin, fresh bread and caramel. The palate has a crackling, spicy texture with caramelised Brazil nut, molasses, cinnamon and clove, with leather, oak tannins and dark chocolate behind them. The finish is long and lasting, leaving Seville orange marmalade, date and treacle.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water. It offers a rich pairing with dark chocolate desserts, mature cheeses and a board of walnuts and other nuts.

- Mead, honeycomb, walnut and a touch of charcoal; with water, clove, chocolate raisins and caramel.
- Palate
- Spicy; caramelised Brazil nuts, molasses, cinnamon and clove; leather, oak tannins and dark chocolate.
- Finish
- Long and lingering; Seville orange marmalade, dates and treacle.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
