Chivas Regal 25 Year Old is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Brothers (Pernod Ricard), prepared solely from rare whiskies aged over 25 years. The producer describes it as "the original legend", honouring the historic recipe that earned the title of the world's first luxury whisky in New York in the early 20th century.
What is the story of Chivas Regal 25 Year Old?
Chivas Regal 25 Year Old took pride of place at the most lavish gatherings in America in the early 1900s. Prohibition cut this journey short; the brand revived it in 2007, as a tribute to the blend's original taste and texture. Today, every batch is prepared from scratch in the blending room, with every cask individually nosed and selected.
What does Chivas Regal 25 Year Old taste like?
This golden-coloured whisky's nose shows sweet orange and peach, joined by marzipan and nutty notes. On the palate, orange chocolate and a creamy confectionery texture stand out. The finish is soft, round and long.
How should it be served, and what does it pair with?
The producer recommends it neat, on the rocks, or with a drop of water. Its orange-chocolate character pairs well with chocolate desserts, while its nutty notes suit mature cheese and nut platters.
