Catrina Cerámica Blanco is a blanco tequila at 38% ABV made from 100% blue Weber agave, from La Cofradía's Edición Catrina range. With over fifty years of tequila-making experience, La Cofradía presents this tequila in handmade, hand-painted ceramic bottles.
What's the story behind the bottle?
The bottle design is inspired by La Catrina, the iconic figure of Mexico's Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) tradition. Colourful, detailed skull motifs make each bottle unique.
What does it taste like?
The harvested agave hearts (piñas) are slowly roasted, fermented and distilled twice; as it's bottled unaged, it carries the pure character of agave. On the nose, the crystal-clear tequila carries fresh agave, hints of citrus and a touch of pepper. On the palate, a soft, rounded structure is felt; sweet agave, a mineral undertone and light herbal spice are detectable. The finish is long, refreshing, lightly spiced and earthy.
How is it served?
To taste its fresh agave character, it's recommended neat or over ice. It's also very suitable for classic tequila cocktails such as the Tommy's Margarita and Paloma.
Which foods does it pair with?
Its citrus and mineral notes pair very well with grilled seafood. Spicy tacos and dishes from spiced Mexican cuisine are also balanced by this tequila's refreshing structure.
