Jose Cuervo Especial Silver is a clear tequila blanco, distilled twice, made from blue agave sourced from Jose Cuervo's family estates in Jalisco. As the silver member of the Especial range, this blended (mixto) tequila is a cocktail classic from one of the world's best-selling tequila brands.
What does Jose Cuervo Especial Silver taste like?
The producer describes it as a tequila with a clean, fresh aroma carrying hints of agave. On the palate it's vibrant and clean; light blue agave notes stand out, with some reviews also mentioning touches of light herbs and caramel. The finish is warm and smooth. As it's not rested in cask, it's colourless and offers a light drinking experience.
How is it served?
It's used most in the Margarita; the Tequila Sunrise, Paloma and an iced Mule are also good options. It's also served as a shot with the classic salt-and-lemon ritual; serving it well chilled smooths out the taste.
Which foods does it pair with?
It achieves a natural match with Mexican flavours such as tacos, ceviche and lemony grilled chicken. Its light, clean structure provides a refreshing balance alongside spicy, well-seasoned dishes.
