Esquisito Blanco is an additive-free tequila blanco at 40% ABV made from 100% blue agave sourced from a single estate in Los Altos de Jalisco, produced at the Viva México distillery (NOM 1414) in Arandas. Production is led by Maestro Tequilero Sergio Cruz, and the tequila is presented in a white-and-gold ceramic bottle.

How is it made?

Agaves matured for six to seven years are slowly roasted in stone and brick ovens. The resulting must ferments spontaneously in open wooden tanks for seven days, then is distilled twice in copper pot stills. The producer emphasises that no additives are used in the tequila.

What does Esquisito Blanco taste like?

Fresh agave, citrus zest and tropical fruit notes stand out. Its structure is smooth; the finish leaves a lively, clean and refreshing feel. The sweet character of high-altitude Los Altos agave is felt directly, with no cask influence.

How is it served, and which foods does it pair with?

To fully see its agave character, it can be drunk neat or lightly chilled; the agave flavour also remains distinct in cocktails such as the Margarita. It pairs well with light, fresh flavours such as ceviche, grilled fish and seafood, citrus salads and sushi.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
