The Glenrothes 18 Year Old is an 18-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled at 43% ABV and produced at the Glenrothes distillery, part of the Edrington group. It is one of the more mature members of the distillery's sherry-focused Soleo Collection. Glenrothes has been producing whisky in Speyside since 1879.
How is it matured?
Glenrothes 18 Year Old is matured largely in first-fill sherry casks. The long maturation and the influence of the sherry casks add layers of sweet spice, fresh ginger and vanilla to the distillery's fruity character, giving a more intense, spicier profile than the 12 Year Old.
What does Glenrothes 18 Year Old taste like?
The nose leads with orange oil, vanilla pod, pear and almond. The palate is sweet, with layers of ginger, rosewater, pear and vanilla. The finish is sweet, spiced and lightly peppery. The balance of fruit, vanilla and spice is combined with the softness brought by long maturation.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It is recommended sipped slowly, neat or with a few drops of water; a few drops of water help open up the aromas. Its spiced, fruity character pairs well with mature cheeses, fruit-based desserts and roasted almonds.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
