Maxica Crema de Tequila Fresa is a 17% ABV tequila cream from the Spanish company Licores y Derivados in the Murcia region, made by combining tequila, dairy cream and strawberry aroma. In its tequila creams, the firm combines tequila made from blue agave in Mexico with a dairy-based cream; the Maxica brand's tequilas are made from blue agave grown for at least six years in the Jalisco sun. The strawberry version balances the tequila's character with the softness of cream and the sweetness of strawberry.
What does Maxica Strawberry taste like?
According to the producer's tasting notes, the liqueur is a soft pink, creamy and bright. On the nose, a sweet, fruity character is felt, with pronounced strawberry notes and a delicate dairy cream. On the palate, a creamy, soft, enveloping texture leads with a sweet entry and ripe strawberry taste; the finish is pleasant and lingering.
How is it served?
The producer recommends the liqueur very cold, in a shot glass. Over ice, it offers a softer, more refreshing drink; it can accompany desserts or be used in sweet cocktails. As it contains dairy, it should be kept in the fridge once opened and is best consumed within three months.
About the producer
Licores y Derivados is a family company founded in 1986 to produce liqueurs on a local scale; it today offers a wide portfolio from cream liqueurs to tequila.
What desserts does it pair with?
The strawberry and cream notes suit fruity desserts, strawberry cake and cheesecake. White or milk chocolate desserts are also a good accompaniment.
