Magic Ice Vodka

Magic Ice is a 37.5% ABV plain vodka produced by Belgian drinks company Sodiko. Triple distilled, this vodka is designed for use in cocktails and mixed drinks. The brand is sold in many markets beyond Belgium, from Finland to Cyprus and the Gulf states, and also appears on the shelves of Finnish state monopoly Alko.

What does Magic Ice Vodka taste like?

The producer and Alko describe Magic Ice as a colourless, smooth, dry and neutral vodka. Triple distillation gives the alcohol a clean, clear structure; it carries no pronounced aroma or sweetness. This neutrality makes it a cocktail base that lets other flavours shine, rather than a vodka for drinking on its own.

How is it served?

It can be drunk well chilled as a shot. Its main use, however, is in mixes: it suits a Screwdriver with orange juice, a Cosmopolitan with cranberry juice, a Bloody Mary with tomato juice, or simple long drinks with tonic and lemon.

What food does it pair with?

Neutral vodkas are, in the Northern and Eastern European tradition, drunk alongside sharp, tangy meze such as pickled herring, marinated fish and pickles. Its plain structure also offers a balanced accompaniment to seafood and cold meze platters.
