Kutman Kavun Meyve Şarabı is a melon fruit wine from the fruit range of the Kutman family, who have made wine since 1896. Made from the fruit itself rather than grapes, this type of wine carries the fruit's aroma and sweetish character directly into the glass.
The Kutman family's winemaking adventure began in 1896 with the purchase of one of the town's wineries in Mürefte. After the population exchange, the family expanded production by taking over neighbouring wineries. Third-generation A. Adnan Kutman had the family's first winery faithfully rebuilt and established the Kutman Wine Museum there, where the family's old tools and documents are displayed. Today, alongside its classic wines, Kutman is also known for fruit wines made from sour cherry, melon, blackberry, mulberry, strawberry and pomegranate.
Fruit wine is an alcoholic drink made by fermenting the juice of fruits other than grapes. In melon wine, the fruit's distinctive, summery aroma takes centre stage.
It's recommended served chilled. It can be enjoyed on its own or with ice as a refreshing choice on summer evenings.
It makes a pleasant match with fruit desserts, fruit platters and fresh white cheese.
