Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve is a 40% ABV, honey-toned blended Scotch whisky from Diageo's Johnnie Walker range, built around the single malt whisky of Clynelish distillery in the Highlands. It is a no-age-statement blend.
What kind of blend is Gold Label Reserve?
Clynelish's waxy, fruity single malt forms the core of the blend, joined by whiskies from Speyside and the Highlands. Johnnie Walker sums up the taste as sweet cream lightly kissed with honey wrapped in velvet and vanilla-touched spice. It is presented as a versatile whisky, equally suited to neat drinking, serving on the rocks and cocktails.
What does Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve taste like?
According to the producer's notes, the nose shows honey, vanilla cream, sherry-like dried fruit and biscuit notes. On the palate, it is exceptionally soft, creamy and delicately honeyed; oak, fruit and a light sweet smoke arrive in waves. On the finish, oak and a light smoke reminiscent of Scotland's west coast linger for a long time.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or well chilled; its honeyed character also works well in light cocktails. Its creamy, sweet character pairs well with fruit desserts, mature cheeses and grilled chicken.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
