Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old is a 40% ABV blended Scotch whisky from Diageo's Johnnie Walker range, prepared from whiskies matured for at least 18 years. Formerly sold as Platinum Label, this blend now carries its age in its name and sits directly below Blue Label in the range.
What whiskies does it contain?
According to Johnnie Walker, the blend is made up of carefully selected whiskies, each rested in cask for at least 18 years, bringing together the character of Scotland's leading distilleries: intense spice from Blair Athol in the Highlands, sweet fruit from Speyside distilleries such as Glen Elgin, and a long, full finish from Cardhu's creamy character.
What does Johnnie Walker 18 Year Old taste like?
The nose is sweet and floral; it carries light vanilla custard, sweet pineapple, candied lemon, honeysuckle and sweet pastry notes. On the palate, the pastry tones continue; a light saltiness, sweet citrus and buttery vanilla cream are joined by a lightly smoky malt. The finish is light, floral and sweet. The producer sums up the taste as gentle spice running through dark chocolate.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It is designed to be sipped slowly, neat or on the rocks; a few drops of water can open up the aromas. Its creamy, fruity character pairs well with mature cheeses, dark-chocolate desserts and grilled red meat.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
