Glenkinchie 12 Yıl

Glenkinchie 12 Year Old is the flagship single malt whisky of Glenkinchie distillery, located in the village of Pencaitland, about 24km from Edinburgh in Scotland's Lowlands region. With roots dating back to 1825, the distillery now belongs to Diageo and is known as "The Edinburgh Malt". The whisky is matured for at least 12 years in cask and is part of the Classic Malts range, which represents the light, floral character of the Lowlands style.

What does Glenkinchie 12 Year Old taste like?

This pale gold whisky's nose shows cut flowers, vanilla and a creamy citrus reminiscent of lemon cheesecake. On the palate, a sweet opening is followed by buttery cream, lemon and floral notes such as freesia; the body is light and smooth. The finish is dry and grassy. According to the producer, this light structure comes from the stills, among the largest in Scotland.

How should it be served?

Its floral aromas are best revealed neat or with a few drops of water, in a tulip-shaped glass. Thanks to its light body, the producer recommends it as a pre-dinner aperitif.

What food does it pair with?

The producer particularly recommends this whisky with fish and seafood: light dishes such as sushi, sashimi, scallops or tempura prawns make a good match. It also pairs well with mature cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano and light desserts such as madeleines.
