Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenfiddich Distillery in Speyside, matured for 21 years and then given a final maturation in rum casks, bottled at 40% ABV. It belongs to the brand's Grand Series collection.
How is it made?
The whisky first matures for at least 21 years in bourbon casks, then is transferred to casks that previously held Caribbean rum. This second maturation adds warm, tropical notes such as banana, fig and caramel, along with pronounced spice, to Glenfiddich's elegant fruity character.
What does Glenfiddich 21 Year Old taste like?
The nose shows a floral aroma, with vanilla, light banana and fig, caramel, new leather and oak notes. The palate is led by pepper and spice; a light smoky trace, oak, lime and ginger are felt. It has a mature yet lively, spicy character; the oak and leather notes from its long maturation are balanced by sweet, tropical tones from the rum cask.
How should it be served?
It is recommended to sip it slowly, neat or with a few drops of water, in a tulip-shaped tasting glass.
What food does it pair with?
Its spicy, caramel character pairs well with dark chocolate desserts, mature cheeses and grilled red meat.

- Palate

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
