Glenfiddich 16 Year Old is a 16-year-matured, 43% ABV limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky from the Glenfiddich Distillery in Speyside, released as part of the brand's partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One team. This bottle is the first release in the series and launched in 2025.
How is it made?
The whisky is a combination of three different cask types: American oak wine casks, new American oak casks and second-fill bourbon casks. The wine casks add fruity depth, while the new oak adds spice and caramel notes. According to reviews, it is bottled without chill filtration, giving it an oily texture on the palate.
What does Glenfiddich 16 Year Old taste like?
According to the producer's notes, the nose shows maple syrup and caramelised ginger, while the palate offers fresh fruit salad and sweet cream. Independent reviews also mention raisin, honey, vanilla and fruits such as apricot and peach, along with cinnamon and almond notes. The finish leaves fruit, caramel, vanilla and oak, with lasting traces of hazelnut, cinnamon and pepper.
How should it be served?
It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water. It is a limited product presented in a gift box.
What food does it pair with?
Its fruity, spicy character pairs well with grilled red meat, mature cheeses and fruit desserts.
