Tiscaz Blanco is a tequila blanco at 35% ABV made traditionally from blue agave in Mexico's Jalisco state. This young tequila, bottled without cask resting, is an accessibly priced option favoured in Europe especially for cocktail use. Tequilas in the blanco class are bottled without oak ageing, so agave's own flavour reaches the glass without cask influence.
What does Tiscaz Blanco taste like?
It first greets you with herbal notes, followed by a fine bouquet of agave and white pepper aromas. Light citrus touches add freshness to the tequila. On the palate a fresh, agave sweetness is felt; the finish leaves a light spice. Its clean, balanced structure makes it an easy base for mixed drinks.
How is it served?
The producer and retailers recommend using it primarily in cocktails: the Margarita, Paloma and Tequila Sunrise are good options. It can also be drunk over ice or as a shot with salt and lemon; serving it cold smooths out the taste.
Which foods does it pair with?
Citrus and pepper notes strike a good balance with lemony seafood, fresh salads and spicy dishes. When served as a cocktail, it can also accompany meze platters.
