Bowmore 18 Year Old is a lightly smoky, mature single malt Scotch whisky from the Bowmore Distillery on Islay, matured for 18 years and bottled at 43% ABV. It replaced the distillery's earlier 17-year-old expression.
What kind of whisky is it?
The long maturation softens Bowmore's peat smoke and brings caramel, chocolate, ripe fruit and floral notes to the fore. The result is an elegant whisky in which smoke and wood are balanced, carrying Bowmore's well-known floral character.
What does Bowmore 18 Year Old taste like?
The nose shows a light, fragrant smoke reminiscent of burning herbs; buttery caramel, light menthol, nectarine, sea salt and fern accompany it. The palate opens with a distinct floral note, followed by sweet syrup and candied flowers, with an oily texture; fruit and chocolate tones merge with light smoke. The finish is sweet and floral, leaving a light tannic wood trace.
How should it be served?
It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water, in a tulip-shaped tasting glass.
What food does it pair with?
Its lightly smoky, fruity character pairs well with smoked fish and seafood, mature cheeses and dark chocolate desserts.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
