Bols Triple Sec Curaçao

Bols Triple Sec is a clear, 38% ABV orange liqueur produced by Lucas Bols in Amsterdam, flavoured with Curaçao orange peel. With a history dating back to 1575, making Bols the self-described oldest distillery brand in the world, it is one of its most fundamental cocktail liqueurs.

What is triple sec?

Triple sec is a colourless, dry type of orange liqueur made from the dried peel of bitter and sweet oranges. Compared with the sweeter, orange- or blue-coloured curaçao liqueurs, it carries a more intense, sharper orange peel character. According to Bols, at least half of classic and modern cocktails use triple sec or one of its variants.

What does Bols Triple Sec taste like?

The producer describes the liqueur through aromatic Curaçao orange peel and citrus touches. On the palate, a lively orange peel taste stands out; its clear texture allows it to add orange aroma to a cocktail without changing its colour. It is a vegan product.

How is it served?

It is most often used in classic cocktails such as the Margarita, Cosmopolitan, Sidecar and White Lady. It can also be drunk neat over ice or lengthened with tonic.
