Baileys Salted Caramel is a 17% ABV cream liqueur version of Baileys Original Irish Cream, enriched with caramel and a pinch of salt. Produced in Ireland, the liqueur is one of the flavoured members of Diageo's Baileys range; the brand's salted caramel variety was first launched in 2014.

What does Baileys Salted Caramel taste like?

The producer describes this liqueur as the soft taste of caramel blended into the velvety Baileys Original, with a pinch of salt added on top. The result is a drink where sweet and salty are balanced: on the palate, intense caramel and cream come first, followed by the touch of salt that sharpens the caramel's sweetness. The creamy texture of the Original recipe, built on Irish whiskey and dairy cream, is preserved.

How is it served?

It can be drunk neat over ice; adding a measure to hot chocolate or coffee makes for a sweet drink. It is also used in creamy cocktails such as a salted caramel martini. As it contains cream, mixing it with acidic fruit juices is not recommended.

What desserts does it pair with?

The producer recommends drizzling the liqueur over cakes and pastries, or using it in desserts. Served alongside chocolate cake, brownies and caramel cakes in a small glass, its salted caramel notes complement the dessert's flavour; it can also be poured over plain ice cream.

Palate: Soft caramel and velvety cream; a sweet-salty balance sharpened by a pinch of salt.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
