Merrys Dubai Chocolate is a 17% ABV Irish cream liqueur, flavoured with chocolate and pistachio, inspired by the "Dubai chocolate" trend that has become widespread in recent years. Made in Clonmel, in Ireland's County Tipperary, Merrys liqueurs are prepared by blending fresh dairy cream from the Golden Vale region with aged Irish whiskey and natural flavours.
What is Dubai chocolate?
Dubai chocolate is a dessert trend in which a chocolate shell is filled with pistachio cream and crispy kadayif pastry. Merrys carries this profile into cream liqueur form: rich chocolate and delicate pistachio notes are added to the cream and whiskey. The brand's roots trace back to Merry's Tavern in Dungarvan in 1868.
What does Merrys Dubai Chocolate taste like?
The liqueur wraps the palate in a velvety texture; a soft chocolate taste is accompanied by lightly toasted nutty notes. Bitter chocolate, pistachio and a light vanilla complete the balance between cocoa and cream.
How is it served?
It can be used neat, over ice or in cocktails; adding it to desserts and coffee is also common. As a cream liqueur, it should be kept in the fridge once opened.
What desserts does it pair with?
The pistachio and chocolate notes make a natural match with pistachio- and chocolate-based desserts; syrup-based desserts such as baklava and pistachio ice cream are a good accompaniment alongside a small glass. Toasted nuts are also a simple choice.
