Merrys Irish Cream is a classic, 17% ABV Irish cream liqueur made in Clonmel, in Ireland's County Tipperary. The liqueur is made by blending fresh dairy cream from the world-renowned Golden Vale dairy region with aged Irish whiskey. The brand's roots trace back to Merry's Tavern in Dungarvan in 1868; the Original version was named best cream liqueur at the 2019 World Liqueur Awards.
How is it made?
According to the producer, the cream used comes from cows grazing in the pastures of Tipperary and reaches the facility within twelve hours of leaving the farm gate. This fresh cream is combined with aged Irish whiskey and natural flavours to produce a smooth liqueur.
What does Merrys Irish Cream taste like?
The producer describes the liqueur as a rich, chocolate- and vanilla-forward creaminess, with toffee notes felt in the background. A sweet warmth lingers for a long time on the finish.
How is it served?
It can be drunk neat with ice, added to hot coffee, or used in creamy cocktails. Served chilled in a small glass, it also makes an after-dinner liqueur. As a cream liqueur, it should be kept in the fridge once opened.
What desserts does it pair with?
The chocolate, vanilla and toffee notes make a fitting match with chocolate cake, tiramisu, cheesecake and vanilla ice cream. Toasted hazelnuts and almonds are also a simple choice alongside a glass with coffee.

- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
