Auchentoshan Three Wood is a no-age-statement, triple-distilled single malt Scotch whisky from the Auchentoshan Distillery in the Lowlands, matured in three different cask types and bottled at 43% ABV.
How is it made?
The "three wood" in the name describes the maturation process: the whisky first rests in American bourbon casks, then moves to oloroso sherry casks, and finally to Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Auchentoshan's light, triple-distilled spirit is enriched during this process with dark fruit and sugar notes.
What does Auchentoshan Three Wood taste like?
The nose shows blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin. The palate is intense and sweet; fruit syrup, plum and raisin stand out, accompanied by vanilla sweetness and a light chocolate note from the bourbon cask. The finish is fresh and fruity, with an oak-derived sweetness lingering for a long time.
How should it be served?
It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water, in a wide-bowled whisky glass. Due to its intense sweetness, it is well suited for after a meal.
What food does it pair with?
Its dark, fruity, sweet character pairs well with dark chocolate desserts, mature hard cheeses and roasted nuts.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
