Auchentoshan 12 Year Old is a triple-distilled single malt Scotch whisky from the Auchentoshan Distillery in the Lowlands of Scotland, matured for 12 years and bottled at 40% ABV. It replaced the distillery's earlier 10-year-old expression.

How is it made?

While most Scotch whiskies are double-distilled, Auchentoshan triple-distils all its spirit. This method gives a lighter, cleaner and smoother spirit; the 12-year maturation adds cask notes such as vanilla and hazelnut to this light body.

What does Auchentoshan 12 Year Old taste like?

The nose shows crème brûlée, fresh citrus, hazelnut and light green leaf notes. The palate is soft and sweet, with tangerine and lime standing out. The finish closes with ginger, light dryness and a lingering hazelnut taste. Its smokeless, elegant style suits those who prefer lighter whisky.

How should it be served?

It can be enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water; its light body also works well on ice or in soda-based long drinks.

What food does it pair with?

Its citrusy, nutty character pairs well with fish and seafood, grilled chicken and roasted nuts.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
