Ardbeg Wee Beastie 5 Year Old is a young, heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky from the Ardbeg Distillery on Islay, matured for five years and bottled at 47.4% ABV.
How is it made?
The whisky is a combination of batches matured in ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks. The short maturation period keeps the raw, smoky character of Ardbeg's spirit front and centre; the cask influence is just enough to balance this rawness. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring.
What does Ardbeg Wee Beastie taste like?
The nose shows barley sugar, tart apple and abundant peat smoke, followed by wet seaweed, tarred rope, burnt pine needle and lemon peel. The palate opens with crisp apple, ash and damp peat smoke, followed by a sea-salt-like saltiness and a lemony freshness. The finish leaves leather, tar and lemon peel.
How should it be served?
It can be enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water; due to its smoky character it is also used in peated whisky cocktails and long drinks made with soda.
What food does it pair with?
Barbecued meats, smoked fish and seafood, and mature cheeses accompany this smoky whisky well.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
