Ardbeg Uigeadail is a no-age-statement, peated single malt Scotch whisky from the Ardbeg Distillery on Islay, made by combining whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks and oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 54.2% ABV. It takes its name from the distillery's water source.
How is it made?
Ardbeg's classic peated spirit is brought together with the vanilla-led, clean character of bourbon casks and the dried-fruit and dark-sugar notes of sherry casks. Bottled without chill filtration and at high strength, it has an oily, intense texture.
What does Ardbeg Uigeadail taste like?
The nose shows chocolate-covered caramel, barley sugar, smoky leather and raisin. The palate has an oily, chewy texture; fruitcake sweetness, honey and barbecue smoke arrive in layers, with citrus, apricot and pepper behind them. The finish is long, dry and sweet, leaving dark sugar notes reminiscent of honey and molasses.
How should it be served?
It is recommended to taste it neat first, then open it up with a few drops of water; due to its high strength, water helps release the aromas.
What food does it pair with?
Its smoky, sweet character pairs well with grilled red meat, mature hard cheeses and dark chocolate desserts.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
