Sheridan's Coffee Layered Liqueur

Sheridan's is a 15.5% ABV layered coffee liqueur made by Diageo in Ireland, presenting two separate liqueurs together in a single two-chambered bottle. One chamber of the bottle holds a dark coffee and chocolate liqueur, the other a white vanilla cream liqueur. When the bottle is tilted and poured, the liqueurs flow from both chambers at once, forming a dark base layer in the glass topped by a white cream layer.

What does Sheridan's taste like?

Freshly brewed coffee stands out on the nose, joined by sweet vanilla and a light cocoa note. The palate is velvety and rich: sweet cream, strong coffee and delicate chocolate come together in harmony. The finish is long and creamy, leaving a pleasant sweetness with a light coffee trace. Its look and taste recall a well-made Irish coffee.

How is it served?

To preserve the layers, the bottle should be tilted slowly and poured into a glass full of ice. It can be drunk neat or over ice, and can also be used with espresso or in coffee-flavoured dessert cocktails.

What food does it pair with?

Its coffee-and-cream character makes a natural pairing with desserts such as tiramisu, chocolate cake and chocolate mousse. It can also be served after a meal with vanilla ice cream or a fruit tart.
