Hardenberg and Schwartzhog

The Hardenberg family's distilling tradition dates back to 1700. The liqueur's name comes from the family's emblem, the black wild boar: according to legend, a black wild boar warned the family of an attack and helped save Hardenberg Castle. The boar's head on the label recalls this story.

What does it taste like?

In the producer's words, it is a smooth-drinking herbal liqueur with a light citrus note, not overly sweet. On the palate, the spice of herbs and roots is felt first, followed by a fruity sweetness; a citrus tone keeps the taste fresh and shows again on the finish.
