Jägermeister Orange

Jägermeister Orange is a 33% ABV herbal and orange liqueur from Mast-Jägermeister SE in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, reinterpreting the classic herbal liqueur with Sicilian oranges. It keeps the familiar herbal character of the original Jägermeister while adding a sweet, vivid citrus dimension.

How is Jägermeister Orange made?

According to the producer, the orange and mandarin peel oils used in the liqueur come from a select region of Sicily where richly flavoured fruit grows. The essential oils are extracted gently, without heat treatment, to preserve a fresh, bright aroma; according to the producer's US website, each bottle contains the oil of roughly three Sicilian oranges.

What does Jägermeister Orange taste like?

Jägermeister's signature herbal notes combine with the vivid sweetness of orange. The producer speaks of bold, fruity aromas, a soft drinking style and a lightly bitter edge. Its alcohol content is a little lower than the original Jägermeister.

How is it served?

The producer recommends chilling the bottle and shot glass in the freezer and serving it ice-cold at -18 °C as a shot. It can also be lengthened with tonic, lemon soda, pink grapefruit or soda for refreshing long drinks.

What food does it pair with?

Its herbal, orange character strikes a good balance with salted, toasted nuts. Thanks to the classic pairing of orange and chocolate, bitter chocolate desserts are also a fitting accompaniment.
