Scarlett Gold Viognier & Chardonnay is a 13.5% ABV dry white wine made in France under the Vin de France classification, blended from Chardonnay and Viognier grapes. It is the white member of the Scarlett range, known for the rose motif on its label.
What does Scarlett Gold taste like?
In the glass it shows pale greenish-yellow to golden tones. The nose reveals white flowers, ripe peach, apple and pear notes with a light citrus touch; the tasting profile from Finland's state monopoly Alko also highlights floral, pear and honey notes. The medium-bodied palate offers summer fruits like peach, a fine citrus streak and a hint of honeysuckle. Acidity is medium, and it finishes dry and easy.
What do Viognier and Chardonnay add together?
Viognier lends the wine a rich floral and peachy aroma, while Chardonnay adds a round body and apple-pear fruit. The result is an aromatic yet not heavy, easy-drinking white.
How is it served and what food does it pair with?
It is best served chilled to 8–10 °C. It suits sipping on its own, buffet tables, salads and vegetable dishes. It also pairs well with light flavours such as shellfish, prawns and mussels.
