Grey Goose is a 40% ABV premium wheat vodka produced in France, owned by Bacardi. Created in 1997 by American businessman Sidney Frank, its recipe was developed by François Thibault, a maître de chai from the Cognac region.
How is Grey Goose made?
The vodka's raw material is soft winter wheat sown in October and harvested in August in northern France's Picardy region. The wheat is distilled north-east of Paris; the vodka is then transported to Cognac, where it is blended and bottled. Naturally calcium-rich water from a limestone-encased spring 150 metres beneath the facility is used in the blending.
What does Grey Goose taste like?
The nose is clear, fresh and elegant. On the palate, freshness gives way to a soft texture, with a light almond note detectable. The finish is fresh and bright.
How is it served?
It is chilled and used neat, over ice, or in cocktails. In simple drinks such as the Vodka Martini, vodka and soda, and vodka and tonic, it brings out its smooth texture.
What does Grey Goose pair with?
Its clean, elegant structure offers a balanced match with seafood such as oysters and smoked salmon, sushi and light meze platters.
