Glen Grant 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Glen Grant Distillery in Speyside, matured for 18 years and bottled at 43% ABV. It is part of the distillery's range, renewed in 2016.
What kind of whisky is it?
Glen Grant's light, fruity character transforms with 18 years of maturation into a rich, layered profile. Sweet notes such as caramel, raisin and vanilla stand out, appealing to those who enjoy full-bodied Speyside whiskies. It is smoke-free with a smooth drinking experience. It was named the world's third-best whisky in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2018 guide.
What does Glen Grant 18 Year Old taste like?
The nose shows a rich, floral aroma, with oak tones and notes reminiscent of pastry spices. The palate offers malty caramel, elegant raisin and vanilla. The finish is long and sweet, leaving traces of nuts and spice.
How should it be served?
It is recommended neat or with a few drops of water, in a tulip-shaped tasting glass; it suits after-dinner sipping.
What food does it pair with?
Its caramel, dried-fruit character pairs well with mature cheeses, roasted nuts and dark chocolate desserts.
