Finsbury Blood Orange is a light, gin-based aperitif at 20% ABV with blood orange flavour, based on the Finsbury London Dry Gin recipe. As its alcohol content is below 37.5%, it is legally not a gin but a gin-based spirit drink. Hamburg-based BORCO, the brand's owner, launched the product in July 2021, following Finsbury Wild Strawberry.

What does it taste like?

The fruity, sweetish aroma of Mediterranean blood orange combines with the juniper-forward texture of classic gin botanicals. Blood orange is obtained by steeping the fruit, giving the drink a deep orange-red colour. Thanks to its lower alcohol content, it is light and easy-drinking.

How should it be served?

The producer recommends serving it neat over ice as an aperitif, as a long drink with tonic or soda, or topped up with Prosecco. A slice of orange brings the fruit aroma forward. It can also be used in cocktails as a lower-alcohol alternative.

Which dishes does it pair with?

Its fruity, light character suits fresh cheeses served in the early evening, green salads, and orange- or red-fruit desserts.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
