Efe Rakı Tek İmbik is a 45% ABV fresh-grape raki distilled by Efe Alkollü İçecekler in İzmir in a single nano-copper still used exclusively for this product. The producer states it is the first Turkish raki distilled in a nano-copper still.
How is Efe Tek İmbik made?
The raki is made entirely from suma obtained from fresh grapes, and according to the producer, aniseed of 99% purity is used. Only the heart cut of the still is taken during distillation, and the process is overseen by Efe's master distiller. The distilled raki rests for around 120 days before bottling; the packaging also features handcraftsmanship.
What does Efe Tek İmbik taste like?
Fresh grape and intense aniseed come through on the nose. It whitens well, and the aromas become more pronounced as water is added. The palate has a smooth, balanced and silky texture.
How is it served?
It is recommended to sip it diluted with cold water, without ice, so that the fresh aromas from the grapes aren't masked. The classic narrow-waisted raki glass is the most fitting choice.
What food does it pair with?
Its fresh, smooth character suits light mezes. White cheese, olive-oil herbs like samphire, grilled fish such as sea bass or sea bream, and other seafood are fitting pairings.
