Cantina Trevigiana Prosecco is a Prosecco DOC sparkling wine from the Cantina Trevigiana series of Viticoltori Ponte (Ponte1948), a producer cooperative founded in 1948 in Ponte di Piave, near Treviso. The series consists of labels that highlight the winemaking tradition of Veneto and the Treviso region.
What is Prosecco?
Prosecco is a sparkling wine produced mainly from Glera grapes in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions of north-east Italy. The method, in which the second fermentation mostly takes place in large pressurised tanks, preserves the grape's fresh fruit and floral aromas; as a result, Prosecco is generally a light, refreshing sparkling wine made for young drinking. Terms on the label such as Brut and Extra Dry indicate the sweetness level.
About the producer
Viticoltori Ponte is an established cooperative that selects and vinifies grapes from its member growers in the region. Alongside Prosecco DOC and Prosecco Superiore DOCG, it also produces still wines. As the Cantina Trevigiana series includes several Proseccos, refer to the bottle label for sweetness and alcohol information.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It is suitable to serve at 6–8°C in tall, narrow glasses. It is enjoyed as an aperitif, at brunch and with meze; it is also frequently used in cocktails such as the Spritz.
