Wenneker Melon is a 20% ABV fruit liqueur with ripe melon aroma, made by the Wenneker company in Roosendaal, the Netherlands. With roots dating back to 1693, Wenneker is considered one of the Netherlands' oldest drinks producers and remains a fully family-run company today. The liqueur is easily recognised by its vivid, summer-green colour, evoking the fruit it is named after.

What does Wenneker Melon taste like?

The producer describes this liqueur as carrying the full taste of a ripe melon, with a fruity aroma. Its sweet, smooth character highlights the fresh character of melon, and the same fruity impression comes through on the nose. Its 20% ABV makes it a lighter, easier-drinking option compared with spirits.

How is it served?

Wenneker Melon is used mostly in cocktails; the producer notes it is particularly suited to tropical cocktails. It can be drunk chilled, neat over ice, or turned into a long drink with mixers such as soda, lemon juice or orange juice.

What food does it pair with?

As the producer suggests, a few drops drizzled over fruit salad and ice cream add a sweet, fruity touch. Light desserts and sorbets made with summer fruits such as melon, strawberry or peach are the most natural accompaniments for this liqueur.

Nose: A fruity, summery aroma recalling ripe melon.
Palate: Sweet and full; the distinct taste of ripe melon comes to the fore.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
