Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime is a 4.5% ABV strawberry and lime-flavoured cider made by Åbro Bryggeri in the Swedish town of Vimmerby. According to the ingredients list it is made from pear and apple wines, and is among the brand's first and best-known flavours. Spring water from Vimmerby is used in production.
What does Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime taste like?
Thanks to its strawberry content, it has a deeper, reddish colour than classic ciders. Strawberry stands out on the nose, with light tart notes behind it. On the palate, fresh strawberry and vivid lime sit on top of the pear base; the producer describes this cider as sweet, refreshing and medium-bodied. The tartness on the finish refreshes every sip.
How should it be served?
Rekorderlig's suggestion is to serve it cold with plenty of ice, a piece of lime and a few fresh mint leaves. A wide, icy glass helps the fruit aroma open up. The brand also shares a cocktail recipe that combines this cider with gin and lime.
What does Rekorderlig Strawberry & Lime pair well with?
Its red-fruit, tart character suits summer tables well. Green leafy salads, grilled chicken and strawberry- or lemon-based fruit desserts are good matches. Because of its sweetness, it sits better alongside lighter dishes than very spicy ones.
